Daycare Services

In Adama town, AWSAD provides daycare services (with a capacity to serve about 33) free of charge for its residents and ex-residents’ children. The objective of starting the daycare is to support ex-residents who cannot afford to pay the high fees of private daycares and to encourage them to work and earn incomes to support themselves and their children.

The day care was set up in response to the challenge faced by several ex-residents who could not find affordable day care services in order to engage in day time employment. The daycares are open six days a week until 6pm and are staffed by ex-residents who had received training in baby-sitting and are now able to sustain their livelihoods.
