When my aunt and mother found out that I was pregnant, they reported the case to the police and the police referred me to the AWSAD safe house in Adama, where I got access to prenatal health services and wait out the legal case.
Through counselling and empowerment sessions, I emerged from my state of depression and slowly begun to accept and love my child. The perpetrator was sentenced to 15 years in prison. -

Because of the counseling sessions at the safe house, I began to have affection towards my baby. I graduated from hairdressing skill training. With the help of the legal aid and follow up service at the safe house, the perpetrator was sentenced to 11 years in prison. -
